2. His birthplace at Bethlehem, Micah 5.2 – But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient days.

3. The human and divine aspect of his birth, Isa. 7.14 – Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel (cf. Gen. 3.15).

B. Prophecies concerning the person and life of Jesus Christ

1. The introduction by a coming “voice in the wilderness,” Isa. 40.3-5 (cf. Mal. 3.1)

2. His eternal existence and exalted person, Isa. 9.6-7 – For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the govern ment shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. [7] Of the increase of his govern ment and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

3. His anointing by the Spirit as the Servant of Yahweh, Isa. 61.2

4. His anticipated kingship and reign, Isa. 9.6-7
