b. Paul at Antioch, Acts 13.34-37 – And as for the fact that he raised him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, he has spoken in this way, “I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.” [35] Therefore he says also in another psalm, “You will not let your Holy One see corruption.” [36] For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was laid with his fathers and saw corruption, [37] but he whom God raised up did not see corruption.
3. Texts that strongly imply the resurrection of Messiah
a. Ps. 22.22 – I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will praise you.
b. Ps. 118.22-24 – The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. [23] This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. [24] This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
c. Isa. 53.10 – Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for sin, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
4. New Testament predictions of the resurrection of Christ
a. John 2.19-21 – Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” [20] The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?” [21] But he was speaking about the temple of his body.
