B. Gentile Inclusion in Old Testament Messianic Prophecy in the Epistles (Romans and Galatians)
1. Global proclamation of the Gospel, Isa. 52.7; Nah. 1.15 (Rom. 10.15 – And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”)
a. Isa. 52.7 – How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” b. Nahum 1.15 – Behold, upon the mountains, the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace! Keep your feasts, O Judah; fulfill your vows, for never again shall the worthless pass through you; he is utterly cut off.
2. Provoking the Jews to jealousy, Deut. 32.21 (cf. Rom. 10.19 – But I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says, “I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation; with a foolish nation I will make you angry.”)
3. Israel being disobedient and blind to the Messianic truth
a. Disobedient, Isa. 65.1-2 (cf. Rom. 10.20-21 – Then Isaiah is so bold as to say, “I have been found by those who did not seek me; I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me.”[21] But of Israel he says, “All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”)
