A Biblical Vision, Part I: Mastering the Old Testament Witness to Christ

B. Connection to your personal witness and ministry in and through the Church
1. How can I help those to whom I minister see themselves as part of God’s global plan of salvation?
2. How can I begin to teach and preach the Old Testament as to help people come to grasp the breadth and depth of God’s salvation promise for the world? Does my current teaching help people to see what God has been doing for his people through the centuries?
3. What can I do to expand the biblical vision of the disciples that I am training right now, i.e., to help them see the “big picture” of what God is doing in the world?
4. How does my understanding and support for world mission relate to my ability to understand Gentile inclusion in God’s Messianic promise? How can I begin to expose the people I am shepherding and leading to the vision and task of world evangelization?
We must give ourselves without reservation to sharing the Good News of God’s salvation promise to the entire world.

The following is a letter Billy Graham once read at one of his crusade meetings written by an American college student who had been converted to communism in Mexico. The purpose of the letter was to explain to his fiancee why he had to break off their engagement: We Communists have a high casualty rate. We’re the ones who get shot and hung and lynched and tarred and feathered and jailed and slandered, and ridiculed and fired from our jobs, and in every other way made as uncomfortable as possible. A certain percentage of us get killed or imprisoned. We live in virtual poverty. We turn back to the party every penny we make above what is absolutely necessary
