The Perfection of Jesus Christ

Entered into the Heavenly tabernacle (Heb. 6.19)

Entered into the earthly tabernacle

Entered once a year to make sin offering

Entered one time for all (Heb. 9.25-26)

Tore the veil of his own body (Heb. 10.20) Offered himself as sacrifice (Heb. 10.11-12)

Entered beyond the veil

Offered many sacrifices

Offered only for our sin (Heb. 7.27) Offered his own blood (Heb. 9.12)

Offered for his own sin

Offered the blood of bulls and goats

D. Aaron versus Melchizedek: Jesus is a priest after the order of Melchizedek

1. Whereas Aaron’s priesthood and its consecration is temporal, Christ’s priesthood (after Melchizedek) is eternal , Heb. 7.21-23.

2. Whereas Aaron’s priesthood is fallible and subject to sin, Christ’s eternal priesthood is sinless , Heb. 7.26.

3. Whereas Aaron’s priesthood is changeable, Christ’s priesthood is unchangeable , Heb. 7.24.
