B. Appearance on the Road to Emmaus, Mark 16.12; Luke 24.13-33
Luke 24.13-15 That very day two of them were going to a village named Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, [14] and they were talking with each other about all these things that had happened. [15] While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus himself drew near and went with them.
1. Sunday afternoon, spring A.D. 30
2. Third appearance, Cleopas and an unnamed man
3. Walking and discussing: Jesus joins them
4. Rebuke at their unbelief and ignorance of Scripture
5. Jesus reveals himself as the Messiah of Scripture, which was foretold to both die and rise again, Luke 24.27.
C. Appearance to Peter and the apostles, Mark 16.13-14; Luke 24.33-43; John 20.19-35
Mark 16.13-14 And they went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them. [14] Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen.

2. Two disciples from Emmaus return to Jerusalem and report their encounter with Messiah to the apostles.
