a. Jesus’ knowledge of his imminent ascension to the Father, John 13.1 – Now before the Feast of the Pass over, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

b. As part of his preparation of his disciples’ reward, John 14.2 – In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?

c. As Mediator between humankind and God, John 14.6 – Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” d. As necessary for the Holy Spirit to come, John 14.28 – You heard me say to you, “I am going away, and I will come to you.” If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
