3. New Testament reinterpretations

a. For the cause of church discipline, Matt. 18.16 – But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses.

b. In the case of wrongful accusation, 1 Tim. 5.19-20 – Do not admit a charge against an elder except on the evidence of two or three witnesses. [20] As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear.

a. Prov. 17.15 – He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous are both alike an abomination to the Lord.
