(3) Ps. 50.10-12 – For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills. [11] I know all the birds of the hills, and all that moves in the field is mine. [12] If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world and its fullness are mine. (4) Eccles. 3.13 – . . . also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil – this is God’s gift to man.

d. God has special concern for and identification with the poor and oppressed.

(1) Ps. 35.10 – All my bones shall say, “O Lord, who is like you, delivering the poor from him who is too strong for him, the poor and needy from him who robs him?” (2) Ps. 103.6-7 – The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. [7] He made known his ways to Moses, his acts to the people of Israel. (3) Ps. 109.30-31 – With my mouth I will give great thanks to the Lord; I will praise him in the midst of the throng. [31] For he stands at the right hand of the needy, to save him from those who condemn his soul to death. (4) Ps. 140.12 – I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and will execute justice for the needy. (5) Prov. 19.17 – Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed. (6) Amos 4.1-3 – “Hear this word, you cows of Bashan, who are on the mountain of Samaria, who oppress the poor, who crush the needy, who say to your husbands, ‘Bring, that we may drink!’ [2] The Lord God has sworn by his holiness that,
