indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have come to share in their spiritual blessings, they ought also to be of service to them in material blessings.
e. We are to remember the poor in all our giving, especially the widows and orphans.
(1) Gal. 2.10 – Only, they asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.
(2) James 1.27 – Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
4. We are to provide for those who minister in the body and for the advance of the Kingdom.
a. Jesus affirms the aid for his laborers, Luke 10.7 – And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house.
b. Those taught are to help financially those who teach them, Gal. 6.6 – One who is taught the word must share all good things with the one who teaches.
c. Preachers and teachers are to receive honor and aid, 1 Tim. 5.17-18 – Let the elders who rule well be con sidered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching. [18] For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer deserves his wages.”
