c. Waiting quietly for an extended time in the presence of the Lord

(1) Ps. 27.14 – Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

(2) Isa. 40.28 – Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. [30] Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; [31] but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

d. Drawing near to listen and reflect in the presence of God, Ps. 46.10 – Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

a. When drawing near to the presence of the Lord, let your words be few, Eccles. 5.1-3 – Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil. [2] Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore let your words be few.
