(5) 2 Tim. 3.14 – But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it. (6) Heb. 10.39 – But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls. (7) 2 Pet. 3.1-2 – This is now the second letter that I am writing to you, beloved. In both of them I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, [2] that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles.

4. In the body of Christ, we are to submit to one another in the believing community in the fear of Christ.

a. We are to submit to each other out of reverence for Christ, Eph. 5.21 – . . . submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

b. Nothing should be done in either rivalry or conceit, Phil. 2.3 – Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.

5. In the body of Christ, we are to submit according the rule that God has provided for us.

a. To the governing authorities, Rom. 13.1-5 – Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. [2] Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. [3] For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive
