torn, and fell upon my knees and spread out my hands to the LORD my God, [6] saying: “O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift my face to you, my God, for our iniquities have risen higher than our heads, and our guilt has mounted up to the heavens. [7] From the days of our fathers to this day we have been in great guilt. And for our iniquities we, our kings, and our priests have been given into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, to plundering, and to utter shame, as it is today.” (3) Luke 15.21 – And the son said to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.” (4) Luke 18.13 – But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, “God, be merciful to me, a sinner!”

(1) Matt. 18.15 – If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.

(2) Luke 17.3-4 – Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, [4] and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, “I repent,” you must forgive him. (3) Col. 3.13 – . . . bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
