A Compe l l i ng Tes t imony
a. He leads us through the Word of God, 2 Pet. 1.20-21 – . . . knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. [21] For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
b. He leads us through the truth we receive from right judgment, 1 Thess. 5.19-21 – Do not quench the Spirit. [20] Do not despise prophecies, [21] but test everything; hold fast what is good.
c. He leads us through the circumstances we encounter and maneuvers on our behalf.
(1) Gal. 5.25 – If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
(2) 1 John 2.20 – But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have knowledge.
(3) 1 John 2.27 – But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything – and is true and is no lie, just as it has taught you – abide in him.
d. He leads us through our conscience, and the promptings of the Spirit on our individual hearts.
(1) 1 Tim. 1.5 – The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. (2) Ps. 24.4 – He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully.
