2. The rise of mediocrity: the common acceptance among many people that “enough is good enough”

c. Lack of connection between what is being done and the person doing it: the waning art of craftsmanship

3. Run amok autonomy: the social rootlessness that has emerged from the “I’ve got to be me” generation

a. Defining truth and morality in personal rather than absolute terms (“what’s right for me”)

b. Creating categories of religion and spirituality without reference to God and truth (e.g., the growing commonness of speaking of “spirituality” without reference to any god of any kind)
