c. Because of the threefold enemy of the Christian (i.e., the world, the flesh, and the devil), evil is everywhere present. The Fall means that evil is inclined to come upon its own ; you must deliberately choose to sow the good if you want the good to harvest.

d. The decisions of others need not determine the character and quality of our own spiritual harvest!

C. Law three: You will always reap the same in kind as what you sow.

1. The biblical support

a. Gen. 1.11-12 – And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so. [12] The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

b. James 3.12 – Can a fig tree, my brothers, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond yield fresh water.

c. Matt. 7.16-20 – You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? [17] So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. [18] A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. [19] Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. [20] Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.
