c. Grow fast like newborns, 1 Pet. 2.2 – Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up to salvation.
d. Taking root and blossoming, Hos. 14.5 – I will be like the dew to Israel; he shall blossom like the lily; he shall take root like the trees of Lebanon.
e. To be conformed to Christ’s image, Rom. 8.29 – For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
f. All growth is into the head, even Jesus Christ, Eph. 4.15 – Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.
g. We are to clothe ourselves with Christ, Rom. 13.14 – But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
h. Ultimately, we will bear Christ’s image, 1 Cor. 15.49 – Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.
i. Our physical body will become like his, Phil. 3.21 – Who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
j. The destiny of the saints is to become like our Lord, 1 John 3.2 – Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.
