Stardust

You were there when time began, Shaping bright stars with your hands. Spinner of the galaxies Came to live with fools like me. You died to break the evil curse And live to heal the universe! Even now, from where you stand, Stardust glitters on your hands Alongside rugged scars that show That no one else but you could know All the horror and the pain That this broken world’s sustained. Give us grace to speak your name, Walk with you and spread your fame; We’ll tell about your busy hands, That now they build a wonderland. Let all know that you are King And reach on out to pull us in With eyes so kind, strength so deep, Scars on both your hands and feet, Jesus, Jesus, reach on down To every house in every town.

Tender kisses on your lips, Stardust on your fingertips.

~ Carolyn Hennings, 2004.

Lord, Be Thy Word My Rule

Lord, be Thy Word my rule, In it may I rejoice; Thy glory be my aim; Thy holy will my choice. Thy promises my hope; Thy providence my guard; Thine arm my strong support; Thyself my great Reward.

~ Christopher Wordsworth, 1807-1885.
