Seeing Christ in Every Situation John W. Stott

The greatest need is to see Christ in every situation and every relationship. We must not put him in a corner or lock him up in a cupboard. We must not attempt to restrict him to Sundays or churches or Bibles or the religious bit of our lives. On the contrary, we must welcome him into, indeed discover him in, every part and every moment of our lives. We need therefore to pray that the Holy Spirit will make Christ real to us, since it is his distinctive ministry to do so, namely to ‘glorify’ or manifest Christ. Also we must be disciplined in seeking our Lord’s face every day and bringing our life and work to him in prayer, for then gradually his presence will pervade the whole of our life, and it will become natural for us to turn to him and talk to him at any time. Then too we shall see him in or behind others, and seeing him shall treat them as we would treat him. This is what it means to live “unto Christ.” ~ Focus on Christ . p. 118.
