II. S ing a hymn or song of praise to God. Come before the presence of the Lord with a simple spiritual song, hymn, or psalms. Remember, the Lord inhabits the praises of his people.
Ps. 22.3 – Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.
Ps. 100.1-4 – Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! [2] Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! [3] Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. [4] Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! III. S cripture reading. Recite, read, and/or reflect upon a short passage of Scripture, God’s living word which can neither be broken or bound. 1 Pet. 2.2-3 – Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up to salvation— [3] if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good. Ps. 19.7-10 – The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; [8] the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the command- ment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; [9] the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether. [10] More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. IV. S upplications, affirmations, intercessions, and thanksgivings. Pour out your heart to the Lord in simple prayers, affirmations, intercessions, and thanksgivings in requests to God. Pray for his steadfast love through the day, and remember his goodness and faithfulness at night.
