A Sojourner's Quest

Teach us so to trust thy Word and to follow the guidance of thy Spirit, that neither time nor tide may drift us from our course; but that, while the things of time pass by, we may be borne onward in peace and safety, until we reach that tranquil haven where our souls would be. And this we pray of thy mercy through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. ~ Ibid . p. 35-36.

Prayer of Dedication, Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love,

Where there is injury, pardon Where there is doubt, faith, Where there is despair, hope, Where there is darkness, light, Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, not so much to be understood as to understand,

not so much to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in dying that we awake to eternal life.

Prayer for Mercy, Slavonic Liturgy of John Chrysostom

In peace, let us pray to the Lord. Lord, have mercy upon us. For peace from on high, and for the salvation of our souls, let us pray to the Lord. Lord, have mercy upon us. For the peace of the whole world, for the good estate of the holy churches of God, and for the union of all, let us pray to the Lord. Lord, have mercy upon us. For this holy house, and for those who with faith, reverence and godly fear enter therein, let us pray to the Lord. Lord, have mercy upon us.
