g. We are free in Christ in order to give glory to God in all things, 1 Cor. 10.31.

h. We are free in Christ to give no offense to Gentiles or Jews, but use our freedom for their salvation, 1 Cor. 10.32-33.

C. Case studies illustrating the call to freedom

1. The healed demoniac of the Gerasenes, Mark 5.15-17 (ESV) – And they came to Jesus and saw the demon possessed man, the one who had had the legion, sitting there, clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid. [16] And those who had seen it described to them what had happened to the demon-possessed man and to the pigs. [17] And they began to beg Jesus to depart from their region. 2. The Corinthian believers, 1 Cor. 6.9-11 (ESV) – Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the King dom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, [10] nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the Kingdom of God. [11] And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

3. The call to freedom for leaders, Acts 13.2 (ESV) – While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
