2. Peter, at his death, John 21.18-19 (ESV) – “Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go.” [19] (This he said to show by what kind of death he was to glorify God.) And after saying this he said to him, “Follow me.” 3. The apostles before the Sanhedrin, Acts 5.40-42 (ESV) – and when they had called in the apostles, they beat them and charged them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. [41] Then they left the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name. [42] And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ. 4. Paul the Apostle, 2 Tim. 4.6-8 (ESV) – For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. [24] He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. [25] For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. Rom. 8.16-17 (ESV) The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, [17] and if children, then heirs— heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

[13] This will be your opportunity to bear witness. [14] Settle it there fore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to
