Plot

Introduction and Rising Action 1. Nebuchadnezzar sets up a golden statue and orders everyone in Babylon to fall down and worship. 2. Three Hebrews, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, refuse to worship the statue. 3. Nebuchadnezzar is enraged and brings them in to question them. Climax 4. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refuse to bow down, choosing instead to be thrown into a fiery furnace. 5. Nebuchadnezzar turns the heat up to seven times normal and throws them in. When he goes to look in, he sees four men instead of three in the fire. Falling Action and Resolution 6. He calls Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego out of the fire. When they come out they are not burned or hurt. 7. Nebuchadnezzar forbids anyone in his kingdom from blaspheming against the Lord because of his great deliverance.
