Introduction and Rising Action 1. Isaiah, along with all the Law and the Prophets, predict the coming of Messiah, the king of God’s kingdom. 2. He says a shoot will come from the stump of Jesse. The coming king will be born in the line of David. Climax 3. The Spirit of God will rest on the King. 4. The King will fear the Lord, ruling with justice and righteousness. 5. He will usher in the age of God’s Kingdom where violence and death are no more. 6. He will bring the knowledge of the Lord across the whole earth.

Falling Action and Resolution 7. The whole Old Testament builds anticipation for this one who would come and reign forever . . .
