Introduction and Rising Action 1. Mary is pregnant, and Joseph knows that he is not the father. 2. Joseph plans to call off their engagement and divorce her quietly. Climax 3. The angel of the Lord appears to Joseph in a dream and tells him to take Mary as his wife. 4. The angel confirms that the child in Mary’s womb was conceived by the Holy Spirit.

Falling Action and Resolution 5. Joseph takes Mary as his wife.

6. Mary gives birth to Jesus in a stable in Bethlehem lays him in a manger, because there is no room for them in the inn.
