Introduction and Rising Action 1. After dismissing the crowds and sending his disciples ahead in a boat, Jesus goes up on a mountain by himself to pray. 2. The boat is battered by winds and waves, and drifts far away from the shore. Climax 3. Jesus comes to them walking on the water. 4. The disciples are terrified that it is a ghost until Jesus calls out to them and calms them. 5. Peter gets out of the boat and begins to walk toward Jesus on the water. He begins to sink when he looks around and sees the wind whipping up. 6. Jesus catches him by the arm and saves him from sinking. Falling Action and Resolution 7. Jesus asks Peter why he doubted. 8. When they get back in the boat, the disciples worship him saying that he truly is the Son of God.
