Plot
Introduction and Rising Action 1. Jesus carries his cross to Golgotha, where he will be crucified. 2. Pilate writes an inscription to put on the cross, “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.” Climax 3. The Roman soldiers crucify Jesus 4. In fulfillment of Scripture, they gamble over his tunic. 5. From the cross, Jesus appoints John to care for his mother, Mary. Falling Action and Resolution 6. After receiving a drink of sour wine, Jesus declares, “It is finished,” and he dies.
