Plot

Introduction and Rising Action 1. As Jesus hangs on the cross, darkness covers the land in the middle of the day.

Climax 2. Jesus cries out, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” 3. He yields up his spirit to death. 4. As he dies, the curtain in the temple that sections off the Holy of Holies rips in two from the top. 5. There is a great earthquake and many dead saints are raised to life. 6. The centurion who was guarding the cross exclaims in amazement, “Truly this was the Son of God!”

Falling Action and Resolution 7. Many women who had followed Jesus also watched everything unfold from a distance.
