Climax 2. Suddenly there is a sound like a mighty rushing wind. 3. The Holy Spirit descends in the form of “divided tongues as of fire” that enable the Apostles to proclaim the Gospel in several foreign languages. 4. People had come from all over the world for the festival. Each of them heard the Gospel in their own language. 5. Peter, the leader of the Apostles, stood up in the crowd and declared boldly that the arrival of the Holy Spirit marks the dawn of “the last days.” Falling Action and Resolution 6. According to Peter, the arrival of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost is the sign that “God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified” (2.36). 7. After he preaches, the listeners are convicted to repent and receive baptism as a sign of their faith in Jesus as the Christ, sent from God. 8. The early Church shares everything in common, listening to the Apostles’ teachings, and praising God.
