Plot

Introduction and Rising Action 1. Paul and Silas preach the Gospel in Philippi. 2. Lydia, a merchant, hears the message and believes. She is baptized along with her whole household. 3. While in Philippi, Paul and Silas are imprisoned for casting the demon out of a young girl. Climax 4. In prison, Paul and Silas are singing and praising the Lord. 5. Suddenly, all the doors of the prison open and their chains fall off. 6. Paul stops the Jailer from killing himself, telling him that no one has escaped. 7. The jailer is amazed and asked how he can be saved. Paul tell him“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Falling Action and Resolution 8. The jailer and his whole household believe and are baptized. 9. He brings Paul and Silas to his house for a joyful feast.
