Martin Luther King, Jr. led oppressed and impoverished people in a fight for justice and equality. He was assassinated for his work. Across history, saints of the Lord have given their lives in pursuit of Christ and his Kingdom.

Mother Teresa of Calcutta (India, twentieth century)

To the least of these (Matthew 25.40) Mother Teresa founded a missionary society that ministers to the needs of some of the sickest, poorest, most broken people in the world. The Church has always sought to minister to the lowest and least in the world with the compassion and love of Jesus.
