Plot
Introduction and Rising Action 1. Jacob’s favoritism and Joseph’s dreams cause his brothers to hate Joseph. 2. The brothers sell Joseph into slavery and convince Jacob he is dead. 3. Joseph is sold in Egypt where he is put in charge of Potiphar’s whole household. Potiphar’s wife falsely accuses Joseph and he ends up in prison. 4. Joseph ascends to great power in Egypt when, from prison, he interprets the dreams of Pharaoh. Joseph reveals his identity to his brothers Climax 5. The dreams predict a great famine. When the famine comes, Joseph’s brothers come to Egypt to buy grain from him. 6. Joseph tests his brothers to see if they have changed.
Falling Action and Resolution 7. He reveals of his identity to them and invites them to come to Egypt where he can provide for them.
