Plot

Introduction and Rising Action 1. The Lord comes to Solomon and offers to give him whatever he asks. 2. Solomon asks for the wisdom to rule God’s people well. 3. The Lord grants Solomon’s request by making him wiser than any other person, and also grants him power, wealth, and victory. Climax 4. Solomon demonstrates this great wisdom in deciding a tough case between two mothers. 5. One mother accuses the other of switching their babies in the night after her own has died. 6. Solomon decides that the baby should be cut in two and half given to each woman. One woman accepts the decision, but the child’s true mother begs for the boy to live.

Falling Action and Resolution 7. Solomon’s wise decision revealed the truth of the matter.
