4. Application is about listening to the Lord to reveal what should be known in order to do what must be done , Ps. 139.23-24.

C. Recognize that the goal of all application is Christlikeness and the advancement of the Kingdom of God.

1. Jesus and his Kingdom are the core of the apostolic tradition and message, Acts 28.23, cf. Acts 28.31.

2. We are to seek the rule of God and his righteousness above all else, Matt. 6.33.

3. Obedience to the commands of Christ is central to Christian discipleship, Matt. 7.24-27.
