B. S 2 enriches our participation in our tradition as well as our ecumenical acknowledgment and affirmation of the entire global Christian community. This is He who places prophets in the church, instructs teachers, directs tongues, gives powers and healing, does wonderful works, offers discrimination of spirits, affords powers of government, suggests counsels, and orders and arranges whatever other gifts there are of the charismata.
~ Novatian, c. 235 (cf. David W. Bercot, ed. A Dictionary of Early Christian Beliefs . Peabody, MA: Hendrickson Publishers, 1998, p. 302).

[7] To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. ~ 1 Corinthians 12.4-7 (ESV)
