have the mindset of the Apostle Paul who said, “For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus and him crucified” (1 Cor. 2:2). The driving force of the gospel is present in the mission of the church as we follow the example of Jesus who came to seek and to save that which was lost. The gospel saves us and sends us. Jesus rescues us from sin and commissions us to make disciples of all the nations. The mission of the church is not just to gather and grow a group of people, rather we are to fulfill the mission of Jesus as we take the unchanging truths of the gospel in understandable ways to the ever changing cultural contexts we have been called to. Finally, the driving force of the gospel is present in the church as we demonstrate our love for God, for our neighbor, and for one another.
