Exercise 6 Navigating Culture and Context

Your team will need to develop a strategy and plan to navigate the culture and context of your selected community.

Discussion Questions 1. Why is it important for Christians to understand and engage with different cultures? 2. What will you do as a church to better understand and appreciate the cultural differences of those around you? 3. What are the specific ways you can contextualize the gospel where you are planting so the community can better understand the gospel in their own language and ways? 4. What are some cultural barriers you may have to overcome in order for you to effectively demonstrate and declare the gospel in your context? 5. How will the reality that Jesus is Lord guide and influence your church? 6. In what ways will this reality define, drive, and develop your church? 7. What can you learn from Jesus’s example in overcoming cultural barriers to reach others? 8. How far are you willing to go as a church to share the love of Jesus with others?
