Phil. 2:20-22 Discipling in the church is the process of modeling, mentoring, and befriending another in the church in order to enable them to become incorporated into the Body of Christ, to become established in the faith, and then to be equipped to minister in Christ’s name in the church and world, as the Holy Spirit will lead. III. The Role of the Discipler: Model, Mentor, and Friend A. The responsibility to be a Model (who the discipler is) B. The responsibility to be a Mentor (what the discipler does) C.
