Church PLANT Manual
Session 3: Nurture and Transition • 81
Dean Training, ask your Evangel Coach for more information and they will guide you through discerning the opportunity. As movements are fluid, organic, and usually emerge spontaneously by people with a like-minded heart and vision which spread rapidly, it may feel forced to talk about developing a movement. However, there is nothing wrong headed about thinking through strategies and developing a plan toward launching a church planting movement, especially considering the Lord’s heart that the church would expand to the ends of the earth. Said another way, all church planting movements originate from the Great Commission of our Lord. 2 Therefore, all church planting movements are branches of His singular movement and for His glory. All of this to say, regardless of your preferred pathway give prayerful, thorough, and intentional time as a church plant team to determine your vision for multiplication and begin with that end in mind. Without intentionality, multiplication will more than likely fall through the cracks and to the bottom of your priority list. Toward that end, the tasks of identifying, equipping, and empowering leaders to plant churches as the Lord leads are essential. Building a vision for multiplication in the DNA of your church will assist you in seeing every leader in your church as a potential church plant team member and assist them in seeing the possibility that they could also be used of the Lord to serve in new church planting efforts.
