The International Buddhist Relief Organization is a UK-based NGO recognized by the UN. It was

established as a charity in 1995 with the registered aim “to help relieve the suffering of people everywhere, regardless of their status, creed, or geographical location, who are in condition of need, hardship, or distress as a result of local, national, or international disaster or by reason of social or economic circumstances. In accordance with the Buddhist doctrine and principles, such help is also extended to animals everywhere that are in need of care or attention.” The mission of the Islamic Relief USA is “to provide relief and development in a dignified manner regardless of gender, race, or religion, and works to empower individuals in their communities and give them a voice in the world.” They have a vision to,“work together for a world free of poverty.” Their actions in tackling poverty are “marked by excellence in our operations and conduct, which are deserving of the people we serve.” In responding to poverty and suffering, “our efforts are driven by sincerity to God and the need to fulfill our obligations to humanity.” And their work is “founded on enabling people and institutions to fulfill the rights of the poor and vulnerable. We work to empower the dispossessed toward realizing their God-given human potential and developing their capabilities and resources.” Then there is the social services and disaster relief branch of the Islamic Circle of North America, ICNA Relief. During COVID-19, the writing of this booklet (ICNA Relief website), they have distributed 239,204 food boxes; 104,609 hot meals; 9,568,160 pounds of food and groceries; served 357,841 children; 183,154 families; 731,473 individuals; 51,026 elderly; 11,636 hygiene
