for a parade than for an amphibious landing.” Strong words but worth meditating upon, considering the times in which we live. 2. The Church is the agent of God’s Kingdom witness. Ephesians 3.10 states, “so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.” The Church witnesses through joyful obedience to the rule and reign of God. Jesus is the rightful King of God’s Kingdom, and we kneel before Him in gratitude and readiness to serve Him even unto the point of death. When we pray, “Thy Kingdom come Thy will be done” (Matt. 6.10), we are praying that my kingdom and my will be gone. I am no longer on the throne of my life as the ruler who is seeking my will and desires. This is the witness that is seen and confounds the created beings in the spiritual world and frustrates and condemns those in the world (Acts 5.27-33). The Church is the only agent in this world that demonstrates submission to the redemptive rule and reign of God and His Kingdom. The Lord is calling out to the Church today, “CAN I GET A WITNESS?” 3. The Church is the pillar and foundation of the truth (1 Tim. 3.15). The Church has an ancient history founded on the pillars of truth. She defends a Great Tradition, our Sacred Roots. This Great Tradition represents the core of our Christian faith and practice from the apostles who passed it down to our church fathers. We are part of a rich legacy of eternal treasures that the Church has always confessed and believed, a worship that has been undivided, celebrated and embodied through the Lords Supper, and a mission that it has embraced and sacrificed for. “All possible care must be taken, that we hold that faith which
