them be with Him and watch Him do the miraculous and proclaim the message of the Kingdom. He gave them ministry. He worshiped and prayed with them, and He taught them. And when tough issues needed to be addressed, Jesus addressed them clearly and kept the Apostles accountable. He was developing and sharpening their calling and gift as authorized sent ones for missions. There is simply no substitute for experience from the guidance of the leader with the apprentice. Principle #4 – Spiritual Growth (Endearment). “Therefore, let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God” (Heb. 6.1). God expects each of his children to mature in Christ, to develop into full adults in Him. Like our own children, such maturity will not happen overnight nor by chance. Good loving parental care is intentional. Such care provides input for the purpose of maturity, and it necessarily implements the refining responsibilities along each of life’s growth stages. Just like a developing child, in similar fashion, an apprentice needs the necessary spiritual formation to grow, strengthen, and mature in the gift they have been given. Spiritual maturity is essential for each one who feels called to serve the Commander of the Lords Army in every situation. These are the four principles that every apprenticeship program must be comprised of. Once your apprenticeship program has been designed and the equipping has begun, there are six marks that the one who is apprenticing needs to constantly keep before them as a target for the apprentice. Mark/Target #1 – Master the art and discipline of being a worthy leader.
