S ESSION 3: L AUNCH AND A SSEMBLE • 289

Launch: Expand the Church Exercise Instructions

I. Open in prayer, committing your time to the Lord and seeking his wisdom.

II. Read Welcome to the Family: Membership Responsibilities and Leadership (at the end of this section) and discuss how these ideas can inform you as you think about launching your church plant.

III. Talk through your views on each of the LAUNCH questions. A. Think only in terms of the next 6 months. B. Some questions will take a minute or two to discuss while others will take longer than 30 minutes. C. Discuss the ideas for no longer than 15 minutes. Anything taking longer than 15 minutes should be tabled and brought up later. Keep it moving.

IV. From your discussion questions, develop goals (measurable, due date, person responsible to see it gets done) to support your decisions (30 min.).

V. One hour before the exercise is done, stop what you are doing and commit at least 30 minutes to prayer, focusing on this phase of the church plant effort.

VI. Presentations

Main Points for LAUNCH 1. Invite mature believers to join the church. 2. Conduct evangelistic events to add to the church. 3. Follow up on new believers and decide on statistical tools for follow-up.
