IV. Don’t equate activity with discipleship. Preach and teach the Word for lasting growth.

A. Not every activity is nurturing; busy-ness and a full calendar may not nurture!

B. Grounding people in the Word is what produces depth, growth, and lasting fruit.

C. In producing community, nothing nurtures like wholesome fun!

V. One size does not fit all: provide for different levels of nurture depending on the different levels of interest, hunger, and burden.

A. Some activities everyone should be invited to and encouraged to join.

B. Other activities are for those who belong to our family and assembly.

C. Other activities should be designed for those faithful being equipped to lead.

VI. Concentrate early on giving deep investment with your emerging leaders.

A. Observe who is emerging as a servant and person of influence in the body.

B. Challenge them with the need for training for the sake of pastoral care.

C. Enlist their help as you help others.

VII. Spread the responsibility for nurture to everyone on the church plant team.

Context Values/Vision

A. Everyone can nurture because each one has the Spirit and his gifts.

B. Shift the mentality from one clergyman per congregation to pastor-teachers who equip every member of the body to minister and nurture!
