Main Concept Seeing the Big Picture

Objectives After this session you will be able to:

• Articulate the critical theological and biblical themes which relate to God’s purpose and plan for the church, and how the church advances God’s Kingdom purpose throughout the world. • Recite the three critical, historical expressions of the Church which define body life in the world today, and defend how those expressions help us better understanding how to plant churches among the urban poor. • State the five basic phases of church planting, the PLANT acrostic, and express how those phases relate to the apostolic mission outlined in the New Testament. • Define and share your values and vision regarding the call of God on you and your church plant team to plant a church in a particular community among a specific group of unreached people. • Outline the rationale, steps, and results of the strategic PWR approach to planning and implementing God-given goals, and stewarding our resources for the sake of fulfilling our vision for mission and ministry. Key Scripture Eph. 6.10-18 (ESV) – Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.
