After reciting and/or singing the Nicene Creed (located in the Appendix), pray the following prayers: Eternal God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we call you “Abba!” for you are our Papa by faith in your Son. Through faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, you have converted us, given us new life, transformed us by recreating your very own life within us. What can we say, now that you have made us your very own children? Our single desire is to become like you, Father, to be like our Elder Brother, the Lord Jesus, and obey you to the uttermost, to please you in all things, to reflect your image in everything we do. Fill us with your Spirit that we may give signs of being converted by you day by day, until we become more and more like your Son. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen! Dear Lord God, I am Thy Creature—fashioned by Thee and placed here by Thy will. I have suffered grievous difficulties and borne great trials. Give me Thy grace that I may truly recognize that I am Thine and that Thou art my Father. May I wait upon Thee for help and security. Amen.
