II. The Word that Converts Effectively Leads Us to Metanoia , that is, to Repentance.

Biblical components of repentance:

A. Repentance involves a change of mind .

1. Matthew 21.28-29 shows this sense of repentance, of how the son changed his mind.

2. The prodigal son repented, he changed his mind and determined to return home to his father, Luke 15.17-18.

3. Peter charged the Jews at Pentecost to repent, to change their minds, and come to Jesus Christ, Acts 2.38.
