the sake of others. Jesus can empathize with us in infinite ways because he shares our very nature. The Lord Jesus is, quite literally, our very kin, and as such, can sympathize with us in every dimension of our weakness and need. Evangelism and spiritual warfare are possible because our Lord is one of us, going with us, feeling with us, and is literally there with us (Matt. 18.20; 28.20). The purpose of contacts in your lesson is to intersect the attention and interests of your students with the subject matter about to be analyzed, discussed, and engaged. It is to awaken in their minds and motives the kinds of questions that will make a study of the material to come necessary and helpful. These contacts are for your suggesting and shaping; if you can think of situations, events, challenges, or realities that may be more on target for the students, please employ them. These are given to help you introduce the subject matter for the session by preparing the students psychologically and mentally for their learning experience. This lesson concentrates upon the solution that salvation provides , which in fact remedies the problem. Right from the beginning you see that salvation is defined in terms of deliverance from the power of the devil and the effects of the Curse, and therefore, evangelism, as the proclamation and demonstration of this deliverance, is at its very heart spiritual warfare . Every time a person receives the Lord, violence is taking place in the spiritual realm. Note this text in Luke: Luke 11.17-23 – But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls. [18] And if Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul. [19] And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. [20] But if it is by the
