The following questions were designed to help you review the material related to Jesus’ inauguration and realization of the Kingdom of God. Answer the questions, concentrating on the “big ideas” and principles associated with the inauguration idea, as well as Jesus’ role in bringing the Kingdom into reality. Be clear and concise in your answers, and where possible, support with Scripture! 1. In what ways can it be claimed that Jesus of Nazareth declared himself to be the fulfillment of the Old Testament witness to the Messiah? 2. What are some of the signs in Jesus’ life that testify that in him the Kingdom has been inaugurated and realized to some degree? 3. In what two ways does the death of Christ reveal the power of the Kingdom of God present today? 7. According to Paul, why is the resurrection the cardinal teaching of Christianity? How do we know that the resurrection of Jesus is a certainty – what evidence is there for it? 8. What are some of the things that the resurrection signifies about the Kingdom? 9. As a sign of Jesus’ authority and Headship, how does the ascension contribute to our understanding that in Jesus, the Kingdom has been inaugurated?

This lesson focuses upon the critical ways that the Old and New Testaments give witness that the Kingdom of God has been inaugurated, through God’s covenant promise to Abraham and the Patriarchs, through the tribe of Judah and family of David, and finally in the person of Jesus
